SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 18, 2006— QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ:QUIK), the low-power programmable logic leader, today announced that version 9.8 of its QuickWorks(R) development software is now available and offers full support for its new PolarPro(TM) family of ultra-low-power FPGAs. Additionally, in a separate release dated today, QuickLogic announced the production shipment of PolarPro devices.

This new version of the QuickWorks tool suite provides a complete design environment for PolarPro devices including synthesis, simulation, timing and power analysis. QuickWorks v9.8 also includes a number of new features:

-- Integrated Precision Synthesis: VHDL and Verilog synthesis optimized for QuickLogic devices, provides built-in schematic viewing of RTL and FPGA designs for ease of debugging the RTL source. Additionally, the interactive PreciseTime engine quickly performs "what-if" timing analysis for achieving timing closure.

-- DDRIO and GPIO Support: Integrated configuration interfaces for Double Data Rate I/O (DDRIO) and General Purpose I/Os (GPIOs) in the PolarPro family, providing a graphical view of DDRIO/GPIO configurations and port listings of routable and static logic ports.

-- CCM Wizard: Provides an intuitive and efficient method of organizing PolarPro Configurable Clock Managers (CCMs) and generates HDL for the selected configuration that can be instantiated directly into customers' RTL source.

-- Power Calculator: Automatically calculates approximate power consumed in a design.

"PolarPro is breaking new ground for FPGA adoption into portable electronic applications," said Brian Faith, Senior Director of Marketing at QuickLogic. "Our focus on providing an integrated EDA toolchain with advanced power-aware features underscores QuickLogic's commitment to enabling fast time-to-market and power efficient design for designers in these segments."

About QuickWorks

This comprehensive QuickLogic FPGA design environment includes fully-integrated schematic and HDL-based design entry, HDL language editors and tutorials, logic synthesis support from Mentor Graphics, 100% fully automatic place and route, static timing analysis, Verilog and VHDL functional and timing simulation support, and 3rd-party design-tool interfaces. For power sensitive or power critical designs, QuickWorks has integrated PowerAware logic placement, power simulation and power calculation.

Availability and Pricing

The QuickWorks v9.8 software is available now at no charge for Windows(TM) (98, 2000, ME, XP and NT). The software can be downloaded from the QuickLogic website at http://www.quicklogic.com/software_download
